Every year, roughly 37 people in the U.S. die daily in drunk-driving crashes. The fundamental problem persists: people have difficulty accurately assessing their own impairment.
The brain is bad at evaluating its own impairment. Alcohol affects judgment before motor skills, meaning by the time someone feels too drunk to drive, they've been too impaired to make good decisions for a while.
TipsyCheck uses five modules measuring different impairment aspects: reaction time, memory, balance (via accelerometer), cognitive function, and voice analysis. Each provides a data point, together creating a comprehensive picture.
TipsyCheck is a self-assessment tool, not a definitive BAC measurement. It provides an additional data point to help someone make a safer choice about whether to drive, call a rideshare, or wait it out.
